Sokoto governor names new road after Seyi Tinubu

Sokoto state governor, Ahmad Aliyu, has named a road in the state after Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

The road formerly bore, “Pepsi Road” and was earlier scheduled for commissioning on Jun 3 by Katsina state governor, Umaru Dikko Radda, but the event was postponed.

Its renaming after the President’s son has however sparked public outrage particularly among netizens after a photo of the road signboard emerged online on Saturday with the inscription: “Seyi Ahmed Bola Tinubu Road.”

Both the governor, Seyi and the President came under severe attack with many hurling insults at them.

Sharing a photo of the newly rechristened road, an X user, @UncleAnass said, “This is how @Ahmedaliyuskt is denigrating the name of Sokoto with his lack of capacity and sheepishness. Imagine naming a road after Seyi Tinubu. Not even the Tinubu self. Mtschew. This is so denigrating. This is really pathetic. Allah ya isa.”

Recall that Seyi was fond of attending the Federal Executive Council meeting, and had to be openly barred by the President.
