New Commissioner of Police assumes duty in Kano amidst Emirate tussle

Amid the emirate tussle in Kano State, Salman Dogo Garbo has replaced the Commissioner of Police.

The Source Reporters understands that Garbo guaranteed his readiness to guarantee sufficient security of life and property when he assumed government.

Speaking during a farewell ceremony at the Officers Mess, Bompai Kano, arranged in honor of the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Husani Gumel, who was promoted to AIG, the new CP sought the support and cooperation of the Officers and Men of the Kano Police Command and the public generally.

Stressing that was the reason behind his success in Kano, the departing CP valued the officers and men of the Kano State Command for their great support during his term as the CP in his remarks.

AIG Gumel advised Offices and Men to provide the new CP all the required support to enable him to reach the established objectives.

Another source said, the ex-Commissioner of Police in the state recently disregarded state Governor Abba Yusuf’s order to expel Ado Bayero, the dethroned Emir from the Nasarawa palace.

Gumel gave the dethroned Emir and Muhammadu Sanusi II extra security instead of evicting the emir.
