EDUCATION: Nasarawa Govt Recruites 5,000 Teachers For Primary And Secondary Schools

Nasarawa State Government has spent the sum of 2.5billion Naira for gratuity and pension areas in the state.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Information, Hon. Basiru Sharubutu Abubakar who made the disclosure in Kaduna said Gratuity and Pension Areas settled are for the period of 1999 to date.
He also disclosed that Nasarawa State Government has so far recruited 3000 new teachers for secondary schools saying that employment of 2000 new teachers for primary schools is currently in progress.
On scholarship, the SSA said a lot of scholarships have been given to students of Higher Institutions to support their studies and learning among others.

He stated that, Governor Sule in an effort towards ensuring Youth Development set up skills acquisition Centers, saying that so far many youths have been trained skills of their choice so as to make their choice so as to make them self-reliant among others.
Hon. Sharubutu explained many schools, hospitals, roads have been constructed/rehabilitated across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state with a view to achieving the development in the areas of education, Health and road development.

The SSA further explained that Nasarawa being an agrarian state, Gov. Sule through the state Ministry of Agriculture has so far distributed fertilizers, improved seeds and other Agricultural Implements to the farmers at subsidized rate to encourage the farmers to grow enough cash and food crops for the state and the nation as a whole.

He said palliatives such as Rice, Maize with N5,000 each have been given to the poor across the 13 Local government Areas of the state.

According to him the food support has helped a lot towards bringing relief to the people.
Hon. Sharubutu said due to hard work and sincerity of Gov. Sule’s Administration, the state Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) has increased from N500 million to N1.5billion monthly.

The SSA however said recently, Gov. Sule has approved the promotion of many civil servants in the state with a view to enhancing their productivity among others.

On the area of security, he said the state Government in collaboration with all the security agencies in the state are working very hard to ensuring the security of lives and properties of the people.

Hon. Sharubutu then appealed to the entire people of the state to maintain peace and to give all the needed support and cooperation to Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s Administration to enable them enjoy more dividends of democracy.
