Federal College of Fisheries Umaisha, will boost Nigeria’s Economy. Sen Wadada

The senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial district, senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has assured Nigerians that the establishment of the Federal College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in Umaisha, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, will go a long way in boosting Education and improving the economy of the nation.

Senator Wadada gave the assurance in an interview with Newsmen in Abuja shortly after a bill for the amendment of the Agricultural Research council Act passed second reading at the Senate plenary. The Lawmaker explained that the bill was very crucial not only to the development of the nation’s educational system, but also to strengthen economic activities that would lead to the creation of jobs for the teaming youths.

He added that Nasarawa State is endowed with abundant natural and mineral resources which if properly harnessed with the right technology can boost Nigeria’s food production potentials.

“It will serve as an avenue for social economic development, Nasarawa State is endowed with solid minerals, it is link between River Benue and Niger and that makes Umaisha development Area of Toto Local Government Area a viable place for the establishment of the institution” Wadada said.

The bill is now expected to pass through the critical state of public hearing having been referred to the Senate relevant committees.
